Well, it sounds ridiculous for a bunch of young people, waking up at 6am on a Monday morning, just because of the "kai woh" pau in Sri Petaling..it really shows that we love food that much!:p
The pau is no ordinary paupau, because it is filled with glutinious chicken rice in it with a pau cover, if you fancy something unique, "kai woh" pau is really something for you and it is a specialty in Sri Petaling. There are many dimsum restaurants selling "kai woh" pau in Sri Petaling, and there isn't any definite answer which is the best as it differs according to your taste bud!:) As Pang Kee was recommended by our friend, so we gave it a try! Before we were there, the hardest part is looking for a carpark, because it is a crowded area. Going on late morning is indeed a no-no after taking advice from our beloved AiLing! Overall, the pau didn't dissappoint us as that was the most item we ordered on that day.
The only dissappointment for me was the dimsum wasn't served while it is still hot, but i think maybe it's a weekday. Hence, the flow is not that fast..I personally have my fussy way when i am heading for dimsum, and it's one of my favourite breakfast, forgetting the calories we gain after swallowing everything! I would prefer the dimsum would come only after we are done with our preparation with the cutlery, so i can enjoy the food after everything is set! I saw those waiters taking the dimsum took the whole thing for us to pick when we were there, which i think it is inappropriate, because once we finish washing the cups n chopsticks, the dimsum is cold and i think it spoilts the taste of the dimsum! So, next time when you go for dimsum, try to ask them to serve only when you are ready so that you can enjoy it!:-)
The "Siew Mai" is recommended too, but i think the fishball is not a popular item in that restaurant! :@ i think most of us preferred the steam dimsum rather than the fried one when we were eating that day!but, of course, there are plenty of dimsum restaurants you can explore in Sri Petaling. Pang Kee is located same row with KFC, precisely, a few shops beside. In addition, opposite of Pang Kee there is Kinrara Mamak stall and The Store just in case you couldn't locate Pang Kee! I am not sure whether is it open daily, but if we happened to go there agian, i will definitely ask!:-)
